Basic information about Aaria
Aaria Unemployment Fund is an unemployment fund for wage-earners employed in the private or public sector. You can join Aaria regardless of your industry or your educational background. Aaria already has around 100,000 members.
Our statutory mandate is to provide you with income security. We pay our members earnings-related allowances based on unemployment or lay-offs, alternation allowances for periods of alternation leave as well as mobility allowances and restructuring protection allowances.
We want to deliver a high standard of friendly and efficient service to our members. Values that are important to us include service-mindedness, expertise and reliability. We are always looking to align our service better with our members’ needs.
We have a staff of around 50 unemployment security experts. Our offices are located in Vallila, Helsinki.
Organisation and administration
Aaria Unemployment Fund was established on 1 January 2021. Aaria is an amalgamation of the Unemployment Fund for Public and Private Sector Employees, Unemployment Fund Statia and Unemployment Fund JATTK.
Aaria’s Managing Director is Tuija Taxell (tuija.taxell@aariakassa.fi). The chairman of the Board of Directors is Marko Jalkanen.
Aaria Unemployment Fund’s supreme decision-making body is the Council of Representatives, which convenes at a time and place designated by Aaria’s Board. Regulatory oversight of unemployment funds rests with the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority.
