The functions of the unemployment funds are expanding

Parliament has approved an amendment to the law concerning the expansion of the tasks of unemployment funds. With the amendment, unemployment funds will be given the opportunity to offer their members new services that support further employment. This includes services, such as job placement, advisory and guidance services, evaluations, and training.

The services offered by unemployment funds will not replace public employment and business services but will complement them. The provision of services and participation in them is voluntary, and participation or non-participation will not affect the member’s unemployment security.

The services will be financed from the unemployment fund’s own resources, and public funding will not be used for them.

Entry into force

The legislative changes come into force in the summer of 2024.

Unemployment Fund Aaria aims to provide expert and seamless services to its members during periods of unemployment. A change in the law allows us to expand our services from benefit payments to employment support. With this reform, we will explore various ways to create added value for our members from their membership in the unemployment fund.
