The functions of the unemployment funds are expanding
Parliament has approved an amendment to the law concerning the expansion of the tasks of unemployment funds. With the amendment, unemployment funds will be given the opportunity to offer their members new services that support further employment. This includes services, such as job placement, advisory and guidance services, evaluations, and training.
The services offered by unemployment funds will not replace public employment and business services but will complement them. The provision of services and participation in them is voluntary, and participation or non-participation will not affect the member's unemployment security.
The services will be financed from the unemployment fund's own resources, and public funding will not be used for them.
